The Arcanum-Butler After School Program will be focusing on grades 5 through 8. The District will be using a format that will allow up to 30 students to enroll, 15 in each of two classrooms. A teacher will be leading the instruction in each room, along with two high school volunteers as needed.
“We are very excited to be working with the Empowering Darke Co. Youth program at Arcanum-Butler Middle School,” said Jason Vince, Arcanum-Butler Middle School Principal. “We feel it will be an excellent opportunity for our kids to receive structured academic support after school two days a week. This program, along with what we are currently doing, provides students a path for after school assistance three times a week.
While the focus of our program will be in the areas of Math and English, we believe it will be much more than just curriculum-based. It will provide a safe environment for students which we hope will enable them to feel comfortable with getting help. We can’t wait to get started!”
